Pastor's Forum in December
We have set aside December to discover God's heart for the lost. Using Bill Hybels' Just Walk Across the Room as a supplement to scripture, we are asking the Lord to break our hearts over the things that break his heart. Please grab a copy of the book by the pastor of Willow Creek and attend these two sessions on December 7th and 21st.

The New Year is Coming
The beginning of the Christian year is coming quickly. To mark our new season, we will set it apart with a new sermon series, God's Search & Rescue Mission; a new Discipleship Hour focus, The Lost; a new Discipleship Group, Concord; and a new liturgical color, Royal Blue. What an exciting time to be a Christian.

Ladies Get-Together
The ladies of Good Shepherd are invited to a "Come as you are" fellowship
get-together, at the church on Thursday, December 4th. 7:30 to 9:00 pm with coffee and light refreshments. Please call Margaret Carter (704-896-0311) with questions.

Welcome Rev. & Mrs. Jack and Emily King
Please extend a gracious welcome to the Kings. Jack is a priest on staff at Apostles Anglican in Knoxville and is a vital part of the Living Waters Network.

Office Closed
The church office will be closed this Thursday and Friday for Thanksgiving.

The Study of Matthew’s Gospel: With the completion of Ruth, the study of the Matthew will begin on Wednesday, November 5th from 9:30 AM until 11:30 AM. The study is open to both members and friends of the church. Please contact Sharon Ann Johnson with any questions or childcare needs.

Food Drive for Loaves and Fishes: The Simmons discipleship group, at the leading of the kids of the group, would like to run a food drive again for Loaves and Fishes. Please bring in non-perishable goods throughout October and place in the box in the kitchen. Items especially needed include pasta and canned spaghetti sauce, canned vegetables (think variety), shampoos, soaps, toothbrushes, and toothpaste. Thanks to all for your generosity to those in need!

Children's Choir: Kim Baysinger is starting the children's choir. The first meeting was held on Wednesday, Sept. 17th. All children 4 and up are encouraged to come every Wednesday! It's gonna be glorious!

Parenting Class: Parenting is HEART work. All parents are welcome on Wednesday evenings from 6:00-6:45pm. For more info, please contact Karyn Wallace at karynwallace@gmail.com.

Home Communion Servers: In order to serve the members of our church who, for a variety of reasons, are not able to join us for Sunday morning Eucharist, we are assembling a team of home communion servers. Please prayerfully consider serving in this vital ministry.

Prayer Shawl Ministry: Calling all knitters and crocheters! Our goal is to knit or crochet God's love, comfort, and warmth into shawls for the benefit of those who are going through difficult health trials. Meeting times are every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month from 9:30am - 11:30am. Please contact Carol White at 704.489.2711 to let her know that you want to learn more about this exciting outreach ministry.

Discipleship Groups: Have you committed to one yet? What are you waiting for? Seriously, what are you waiting for?

Prayers of the People: If you or someone you love would like to be included on this list, please notify Pat Melchor in the office at pat@tcotgs.org or at 704.895.0059.

Living Waters Network: Church of the Good Shepherd is now a part of the Living Waters Network. Please begin praying for our new bishop, the Rt. Rev. T.J. Johnston, and for our new network leader, the Rev. Mike Murphy.

New Administrative Assistant: Please welcome the newest member of our staff, Pat Melchor. With a wide range of administrative experience in churches, Pat will focus on the areas of communication and bookkeeping. She lives in Mooresville, and attends Mosaic Church, which meets in Mallard Creek High School in Charlotte.

Baptism Schedule: Reclaiming the heritage of the historic Christian church, Good Shepherd will begin celebrating baptism four times a year—Epiphany, Easter, Pentecost, and All Saints—during our Sunday morning worship experience. If you are interested in baptism either for yourself or for someone you love, please contact Rev. Kyle Wallace to discuss the specific dates and the preparation process.
